Vintage Vibes was formed in the summer of 2023 to play a one-off show as part of the annual Belleville Porchfest. As performers with many years of experience playing in various bands, we wanted to put together a set list of some of the great, old songs that most everyone knows, but seldom get to hear live.
All the members of the band brought forward song suggestions and we soon had a set list of great musical memories. We ended up with a few country songs, a bunch of early rock and roll numbers, and some great classic rock from the late 60s and 70s.
From that initial performance, we received several offers to play more shows, and with no other formal commitments at the time, we decided to officially launch the Vintage Vibes Band.
Kim is a highly-regarded performer in the Quinte area and provides most of the band's lead vocals. Whether singing a soulful blues number or belting out a rock classic, Kim can cover it all! She also provides spot-on harmonies when ever one of the "fellas" takes on the lead vocal responsibilities.
In addition to her singing duties, Kim is an accomplished keyboard player. Her tasteful piano leads and synthesizer parts are an integral part of the band's overall sound.
Born in Trenton, Scott grew up in Nova Scotia after his family was transferred to the Greenwood Air Force Base in the Annapolis Valley. The area was a hot bed for live music and Scott had the opportunity to hear a lot of different musical styles while growing up. Celtic music was very big in the region, as was country and blues, and these influences have all found their way into his playing.
Prior to moving back to the Quinte area a few years ago, Scott was very active in the Toronto music scene. He played in several bands in the region and has had the good fortune to meet up with some amazing musicians in his new home.
Rob has been a fixture in the local area for many years and has played with several of the region's most noted musicians. A true multi-instrumentalist, in addition to his bass duties with Vintage Vibes, Rob also plays guitar and keyboards.
Rob currently provides lead vocals on several songs on the band's set list. He's also been known to do a mean Elvis - thank you, thank you, very much!
Dave has logged more miles behind the drum kit than he cares to admit! Starting out as a youngster in Verdun, Quebec, Dave played on stages throughout the region and was very much a part of the exciting musical revolution of the late 60s and 70s.
He remained active in the music scene while living in Toronto, and is pleased to still be holding down the beat after relocating to Belleville in 2019.
